About Melati

Financial knowledge should belong to everyone, not just the well-advised

Melati was founded in Ipoh with a simple intention: to give adults in their 40s and beyond the clarity and confidence they deserve around their own money.

Our Story

How Melati came to be

Melati grew from a series of informal conversations in Ipoh among adults who shared a common feeling: that the financial world spoke a language they were never quite taught. Bank statements, EPF notices, PRS brochures — the paperwork was always there, but plain explanations rarely were.

Our founders — educators and financial literacy advocates with backgrounds in adult learning and Malaysian personal finance — decided to build something different. Not a sales channel. Not a seminar with a product pitch at the end. Simply a place where a 47-year-old with questions could sit down, ask anything, and leave with a clearer picture of their own situation.

Melati opened its doors at Persiaran Greentown, Ipoh, and has since quietly grown through word of mouth among participants who appreciated, above all else, that nobody tried to sell them anything.

Our Mission

To help Malaysians in their 40s and beyond build a clear, calm understanding of their own financial picture — without pressure, jargon, or product selling of any kind.

Our Approach

Small groups, plain language, printed materials to take home, and a schedule that respects the pace at which adults absorb new information. Every session is designed to be revisited, not rushed through.

Our Values

Honesty, patience, and genuine care for each participant's understanding. We measure success by whether a participant leaves each session with more clarity than they arrived with.

The Team

People who genuinely care about this work

Our small team brings together experience in adult education, Malaysian personal finance, and estate planning — all focused on making the subject approachable.

Our Standards

How we maintain quality in every session

Educator Credentials

All Melati educators hold relevant qualifications in adult education or Malaysian financial literacy frameworks, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Controlled Group Sizes

We cap enrolment to ensure every participant has the space to ask questions and the educator has the bandwidth to answer them properly.

Reviewed Curriculum

Our programme materials are reviewed annually to reflect current Malaysian financial regulations, EPF contribution rules, and estate planning guidelines.

Participant Privacy

Personal details shared in class or during consultations remain strictly confidential. We never share participant information with third parties for marketing purposes.

No Product Conflict

Melati has no financial relationships with any insurance company, unit trust house, or banking institution. Our independence protects the integrity of everything we teach.

Participant Feedback

We collect honest feedback after every programme and use it to refine our content and teaching methods. Participants' experiences shape how Melati grows.

Financial education in Ipoh designed for adults in their 40s

For many Malaysians, money management conversations happen too early — during school years when retirement feels impossibly distant — or too late, when the paperwork has already piled up. Melati exists in the space between: for those who are somewhere in their 40s or 50s and want to take stock calmly and clearly.

Our classes cover everyday budgeting, KWSP and EPF literacy, PRS options, personal savings habits, wasiat drafting basics, hibah considerations, and the kind of healthcare cost planning that few Malaysians are ever walked through patiently. We do not tell participants what decisions to make. We help them understand the landscape so they can make their own decisions with confidence.

Melati operates from Persiaran Greentown in Ipoh and serves participants from across Perak. We keep classes small deliberately. Large group seminars and online videos have their place, but many adults in this stage of life benefit most from a quiet room, a clear explanation, and the freedom to ask follow-up questions without feeling rushed.
